Job Title: Portfolio Manager (Renewable Energy) Location: Budapest, Hungary
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Office based role Role Summary Petroplan is supporting an international renewable energy investment firm in their search for a dynamic and proactive Portfolio Manager to drive performance and value across their renewable energy assets portfolio. The role requires leadership and a strong combination of technical and financial skills, managing the integration of assets into operations while optimizing their economic value over time.

Responsibilities:- Asset Performance Optimization: Ensure continuous high performance of assets, focusing on both revenue and cost optimization.
- Contract and Commercial Management: Negotiate and manage commercial agreements with suppliers and contractors to optimize cost efficiencies.
- SPV Management: Oversee and optimize special purpose vehicle (SPV) structures for tax and risk mitigation.
- Risk Management: Minimize risks associated with the asset portfolio and ensure smooth integration during M&A.
- Cross-Portfolio Synergies: Maximize synergies across the portfolio, aligning actions with the broader company goals.
- Financial Oversight: Regularly update business cases (including revenue and cost assumptions, asset budgets) and manage the financial performance of the assets.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a local team of 3-5 people, setting priorities and ensuring effective collaboration to achieve optimal results for the portfolio.
- Stakeholder Management: Manage and liaise with internal and external stakeholders (including banks, landowners, and suppliers) to resolve conflicts and ensure smooth project operations.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement corrective actions and initiatives to continuously enhance asset value and operational performance.
Key Skills & Qualifications:- Educational Background: MSc or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Experience: 5-10 years of experience in project/asset management, preferably in the renewable energy or energy sector. Experience with complex projects, high workloads, and project matrix organizations is highly preferred.
- Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of project financing, complex contracts, and financial management. Experience with business case evaluations and asset performance.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of PV plants and technical operations to effectively manage assets and liaise with technical teams.
- Leadership & Communication: Proven leadership abilities to manage and inspire teams, along with excellent communication skills for interacting with stakeholders at all levels. Experience presenting to senior management is essential.
- Negotiation & Problem-Solving: Strong negotiation skills and the ability to resolve conflicts with internal/external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Languages: Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required.
- International Context: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, international environment with diverse teams and stakeholders.
