Suitable candidates will come from a environmental / regulatory background and ideally with commissioning experience of large scale refineries and petro-chem facilities.

Role will be working closely with the client EPC and validating environmental policies / guidelines.

Our client, a large Oil & Gas organisation is looking to add a Subsea Structural Engineer, based in St. John's NL. Candidates need to based locally.


This is a 1 year independent contract that is expected to be extended for 2.5 years depending on the progress of the project, needs of the business etc. This is a Monday to Friday, 8-5 office position based in St. John's, NL but will require frequent local travel to fabrication sites.

Key Responsibilities:
* Assist the Subsea Projects Team with the design and fabrication of subsea manifold structures, including associated testing, inspections, loadout and installation, as required.
* Manage contractor design in accordance with industry codes, standards and design guidelines, client specifications and project scope of work.
* Lead the review of contractor design documentation including detailed design reports, equipment specifications, data sheets and Material Take Offs.
* Provide day to day support for projects where required including internal progress reporting.
* Travel to and from fabrication sites/facilitates to review or oversee scope progress when required (estimated once or twice per week)
* Promote positive safety culture.

Requirments:
* Minimum of 10 years related experience in offshore oil and gas development/operations.
* Bachelor's Degree or Masters of Science in Engineering.
* Professional Engineering Designation.
* Fabrication site and/or shop experience.
* Aware of all relevant codes and standards applicable to subsea structures design and fabrication.
* Extensive knowledge and understanding of CNLOPB regulatory requirements.
* Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work closely with teams of engineering staff and contractors.
* Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team and with others outside the formal organization.
* Proficiency in MS Office applications.

Nice to Haves:
* Design and/or design verification experience including interfacing with Certifying Authority.

Key responsibilities:

Reporting to the Commissioning Manager, (in conjunction with the Maintenance Superintendent & Field Superintendent), the Senior Mechanical Commissioning Technician is responsible to provide:

‚ Commissioning expertise on behalf of Chad Operations & Maintenance Management within a green field and brown field project environment as the Senior Mechanical Commissioning Technician as required.

‚ Collaborative development of detailed Mechanical Commissioning Procedures and Commissioning Plans in conjunction with the Operations Services Function Group, Construction Group and Operations Group in accordance with recognised industry, ISO international and Company standards.

‚ Provide leading operations guidance to ensure that the pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up of facilities is seamless and delivered in a prescribed manor in preparation for RFO (Ready for Operations).

‚ Facilitate a co-operative working arena within the Project Business Unit and other functional support groups.

‚ Remain current with knowledge and understanding of industry operating standards, practices and technology.

‚ Provide the opportunity for CA&A (Competency Assessment & Assurance) based training of national staff throughout the course of the commissioning process in conjunction with the Operations Maintenance & Production Departments as outlined in the company training plan.

Detailed Description:

‚ Experience in Emergency Response as part of an Emergency Response Team within Production Operations & Maintenance (on-shore & off-shore).

‚ Competent in the preparation of commissioning planning and reporting documentation

‚ Competent in understanding and explaining related documentation (P&ID's, Piping isometric drawings, construction plans, Plant integrity and inspection procedures and planning, installation and start-up of rotating equipment (centrifugal, & PD Pumps, Prime-movers, Diesel and Gas reciprocating engines), Gas compression facilities, Fired heaters, Vessels and associated process isolation Valve systems

‚ Competent in troubleshooting and interrogating rotating equipment performance.

‚ Track record in developing and working within matrix-type functional support organisational structure.

‚ Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and in a remote fast-changing developing environment.

‚ Experience within oil/gas field operations and/ or project based facilities development covering well sites, gathering systems and manifolds, testing facilities, production facilities and production operations, in a multi-national commissioning operations team.

‚ Experience with plant upgrading and general process optimisation.

Supervises: Assigned discipline Mechanical commissioning technicians as required. The position also requires the 'on the job' training of junior trainee Technicians in accordance with the company Competency Assessment & Assurance training plan in conjunction with the Maintenance/ Production and Training Departments.

Lead Process Safety Engineer

The Lead Process Safety Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of Process Safety engineering activity on an offshore project in the Caspian region.

  • Working with the Engineering Contractor during FEED and long lead procurement phases of the Project, providing technical integrity assurance in the delivery of the Process Safety scope of work, as well as input to the overall project and engineering decisions. The incumbent will be responsible for the planning of any future stages of the work for the Process Safety discipline.
  • Key attributes involve a working knowledge of all relevant codes, standards, and regulations that pertain to the design of the facility, significant experience in relevant discipline engineering position. Individual to have a high level of technical competence and comfortable playing a lead discipline role in a multi-discipline engineering team.

  • Experience in design safety in front end engineering design and detailed design, EPMS Contractor experience on major Projects. Drilling Engineering experience will be a further benefit. A broad experience in terms of the various aspects of design and Process safety is required.

  • Track record of delivery and able to demonstrate effective project technical management and leadership skills.

  • An ability to assess a design and identify what could go wrong and how severe any possible consequences may be, using engineering judgement.

  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability to lead through influencing others. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the project team, Contractors and leadership team.

  • A self-starter and pragmatic decision maker, willing to challenge and ensure engineering value is delivered.

I am looking to recruit a HSE Management Systems coordinator to work in central London on a long term contract with the possibility of going permanent.

Purpose

  1. Support the Head of HSSE in the operational delivery of the HSSE agenda
  2. Provide support to all technical authorities as the technical writer for the HSSE Management System including the site based operational and maintenance systems.
  3. Reduce complexity and increase clarity of all IUK HSSE Management System guides and instructions.

Key responsibilities/accountabilities

  1. Responsible for driving the implementation of an integrated HSSE Management System.
  2. Maintenance and continual development of the management system to meet the existing and future needs of the organisation.
  3. Maintain a register of all HSSE Management System documents (policies, explanations, procedures and guides)
  4. Plan, develop, write and edit operational procedures and manuals.
  5. Working with the IT personnel ensure quick and reliable access to the HSSE Management System procedures and content
  6. Writing ad-hoc reports, technical notes and correspondence, particularly for authority communication and edit or proofread others text as necessary.
  7. Creating and editing pictures, diagrams and other communication aid material.
  8. General technical support, including maintenance of files and records.
  9. Helping to prepare reports and letters to the regulator.
  10. Assist with presentation materials, databases, spreadsheets and other general support needs of staff
  11. Assist with special requests and/or projects
  12. Analyse documents to maintain continuity of style and content.
  13. Helping to update the HSSE Annual Report, attending review meetings and acting as secretary at these meetings. Collating the information and sharing with discipline managers.
  14. Managing the administration of the emergency response room in London and ensuring all documents are current and up to date. Working with the technical authority to ensure the emergency procedures have been revised and are current.
  15. Local Action Tracking System Administrator, inputting and tracking completion and closeout of actions and helping to expedite progress.
  16. Maintaining the Safety and Environmental Performance Data spreadsheets, ensuring all accidents, incidents, environmental data, safety input data and man-hours are accurate and up-to-date.
  17. Working with the HSSE Lead to summarise key lessons learned for the business after any incidents.
