Offshore Safety Coach

Our client, a leading owner/operator Oil & Gas organization is looking to add a Safety Coach to their team for a 6 - 10 month independent contract. This position will start in the St. John's office for the first few weeks, then transition into a 21/21 offshore rotation.

Job Overview

The primary responsibility will be to coach and mentor offshore teams in the use, administration, and compliance with, the organization and regulatory policies and procedures. This is a key role, supporting the frontline leadership program and ensuring operations are conducted in a safe manner. The Offshore Safety Advisor will promote safe working attitudes and practices, and participate in incident or near miss investigations. They will support the rig in implementing the rig safety program and assist in implementing improvements to the rig safety program.

Key Responsibilities

  • See to it that operational safety tools are used and optimized in everyday use on the rig.
  • Ensure that relevant rig procedures are continuously improved based on personal and on rig experience gained through the use of operational safety tools.
  • Assist in the review of reported incidents and investigations.
  • Describe and suggest improvements in deficiencies of the safety tools or the use of them.
  • Steward the organization's Frontline Leadership Program.
  • Report monthly statistics to the EH&S Analyst
  • Upload incident reports to Project Place and enter corrective actions into Enableon.
  • Monitor Barents safety performance and contribute to the development of initiatives to foster a continuously improving Safety Culture.
  • Ensure the Exploration & Production DCI Priorities will be adhered to.
  • Ensure pollution prevention arrangements are verified at least twice a year for Bunkering at Sea as per the organization's DCI Safety Plan.
  • Verify once per month that deck scruppers are being regularly inspected and conduct a visual inspection of all accessible drain plugs once per week.
  • conduct regular inspections of the entire operation including the MODU and all support services.
  • Verify that the rig contractor's inspection records of H2S equipment is compliant at least once per month or in operations where H2S is expected.
  • Verify the rig contractor's health and hygiene inspection records at a minimum once per month
  • Undertake office work in certain or well defined issues when deemed necessary and directly connected with improvement of the operational safety.

Job Overview

The position will report to the Environment and Regulatory Team Lead, and will provide environment, health and safety support to the organization's East Coast Operations. Programs that the individual will be involved in include environmental protection planning, chemical management and compliance monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

- Evaluate and screen chemicals to be used on all offshore operated
facilities, including management of safety data sheets.
- Support environment, health and safety programs and the regulatory approval
process for offshore production, drilling and exploration activities.
- Support regulatory and corporate environmental reporting requirements.
- Participate in the review of proposed environmental regulations, determine implications for the organization's operations and develop company responses.

Key Requirements

- Post Secondary degree in Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, Engineering or equivalent.

The HSE Supervisor is responsible for:
* Monitoring the effective implementation of the HSE procedures and of the precaution indicated in the risk assessments and JSAs;
* Coaching the personnel at site about the new procedures;
* Participating to the HSE meetings as required;
* Distributing daily reports and sharing lesson learnt during daily pre start briefing;
* Carrying out daily site HSE inspections;
* Controlling the proper use of PPE at workplaces and report non-compliances;
* Providing assistance in case of incidents at workplaces and participating to the investigation as required;
* Informing about any HSE violation found at workplaces and fill in proper report of violation;
* Creating a transparent and cooperative relation with Construction Team providing professional advice and support;
* Pro-actively advising on environmental, occupational health and safety aspects during the planning of all Work activities;
* Leading systematic workplace verification inspections;
* Spending a minimum of eighty (80) percent of their time at Work locations monitoring compliance and providing coaching on HSE procedures, reinforcing best practices on environmental and safe work, sharing lessons learned and reinforcing positive behaviours;
* Exercising Stop Work Authority when unsafe conditions or behaviours in the field are identified.
Requirements
- English fluency (written and spoken) is a must
- 5/7 years of experience as HSE supervisor in International Projects in the oil & gas industry or international general contractors
- Technical degree
- Good interpersonal communication and analytical skills are essential
- Familiarity with microsoft outlook, internet, excel and/or word applications
- Team player with leadership, motivational and technical skills
- Knowledge of HSEMS implementation (PTW, JSA preparation, TBT, hazardous substances management, work at height, confined space, etc.)

  • Upload relevant equipment drawings and manufacturer data report (MDR) from Electronic Document Management (EDM) system into Visions and link them to the respective equipment
  • Digitize relevant historical paper copies of documents and records into electronic formats ready for data upload into Visions when required
  • Input non-destruction examination (NDE) data, including thickness monitoring location (TML) readings from reviewed NDE reports
  • Perform quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) on pressure equipment integrity data from inspection reports and data validation reports to ensure accuracy and consistency before data entry
  • Ensure consistencies of common data between the pressure equipment integrity database (Visions) and the work management platform (SAP)
  • Compile reports on compliance and key performance indicators (KPI) when required
  • Maintain constant communications with Asset Data Management (ADM) to provide up-to-date technical guidance on Visions and SAP data management to the Pipeline Integrity team


Key Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Post Secondary Education/Certification in a relevant field is also an asset
  • 2 or more years of pressure equipment integrity data management experience
  • Minimum 6 months of data entry experience within the Oil & Gas Industry
  • Proficient within pressure equipment databases (Visions is highly desirable)

The Project Engineer is responsible for the specification, design, delivery, maintenance and operational support of subsea production systems (SPS) and is the single face to the subsea equipment suppliers.
Umbilicals and Flexibles team is growing to deliver hardware and services for the ongoing Projects across all regions.
The role will hold ultimate responsibility for the delivery (specification, design, procurement, verification, manufacturing, validation) of all umbilicals and flexibles hardware and services for specified Projects within the portfolio. The role will ensure the deliveries are in line with HSSE requirements and quality standards and within project schedule and cost objectives.
  • Provide discipline engineering support for umbilical and flexible deliveries and interfaces with umbilicals and flexibles suppliers for specified Projects.
  • Integration and management of interfaces between the umbilicals and flexibles suppliers and project system engineering (EPMS), connection system supplier (SPS), installation contractor (EPIC), logistics contractor and Services team.
  • Demonstrate good safe work practices and be proactive in ensuring safe practices at all times including a strong influence role with suppliers.
  • Identify Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) risks and communicate as appropriate
  • Working internally to manage the supplier selection and award process for umbilicals and flexibles ensuring best value is achieved and contract is placed to meet project schedule requirements.
  • Support tender clarification/evaluation and contractor/vendor selection, ensuring all activities are in accordance with the Code of Conduct.
  • Review, comment, and approve design documentation, quality plans and other procedures as appropriate.
  • Budget management of contracts. Working with Project Services, responsible for accurate cost and schedule forecasting in support of in year quarterly updates and project lifecycle cost estimate updates.
  • Build strong working relationships with the key suppliers.
  • Identify and manage key engineering and delivery risks and provide input to project risk management and mitigation action plans.
  • Manage the interfaces between key stakeholders, including engineering contractors, installation contractors and suppliers.
  • Read, understand, implement, and reinforce use of Company's Management of Change process and manage any changes to the scope rigorously and in compliance with the project MOC process.
  • Assist in the performance of all project assurance activities, including the management of Design Verification Plans.
  • Support the collection and reporting of key performance data for umbilicals and flexibles product designs, manufacture and installation.
  • Working with the quality team, responsible for ensuring an appropriate verification plan is established for the deliveries to provide confidence in the product quality.
  • Part of a Global engineering and delivery team, sharing lessons and collaborating across Projects.

The Engineering Lead is responsible for design or design oversight of all mechanical equipment and systems required by the project they are assigned to. The Engineering Lead will work with the Facilities Project Engineering team.

Specific Accountabilities

* Collaborate with functional groups and stakeholders to define project scopes, budgets and schedules
* Contract management of Engineering Service Providers (ESPs); development of engineering Scopes of Work (SOW), review of engineering proposals and preparation of award recommendations, Earned Value Management (EVM) based on established Rules of Credit (ROC) and change management as required
* Coordinate and provide leadership to Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) allocated to the project team to complete technical activities as required
* Monitors discipline specific deliverable quality and schedule
* Participate in project design including the review of engineering deliverables and attendance in design review meetings; HAZID, HAZOP and 3D Model Reviews
* Coordinate and support project contracts and procurement; assist in the development of the project procurement plan, preparation or review of RFQs, review of vendor/contractor proposals, prepare or review technical and commercial evaluations, prepare award recommendations and vendor/contractor management
* Collaborate with and support operations and construction to resolve operability and constructability issues during project planning and execution phases
* Collaborate with operations to coordinate outage and tie-in planning activities including the Management of Change (MOC) procedure
* Collaborate with Environmental, Lands, Legal and Regulatory to ensure required project permitting and filings are completed

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Required:
* University degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
* Registered or eligible for immediate registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta and British Colombia
* 10 years engineering experience
* Demonstrable in-depth knowledge of regulatory governances (federal and provincials), codes and standards (CSA, API, ASME, ASTM)
* Strong verbal and written communication skills for non technical audience
* Basic computer skills including spreadsheets and word processing
* Willingness and ability to travel
* Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively
* A demonstration of effective troubleshooting skills
* Experience working with multi-discipline project teams
* Experience working in an oversight and team lead role
* Good leadership and team building skills utilizing collaborative method

Manages all operational, tactical and procedural security matters in support in line with Company's policy. Reports to the Operations Security Superintendent.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manages and directs the allocated teams or guard force as appropriate, of contracted Security Provider and internal Company security management staff in daily tasks.
  • Ensures that all security related matters are conducted according to Security Regulations as stipulated by KRG Ministries, Company policy, international industrial best practice and in accordance with the Voluntary Principles of Human Rights.
  • Provides routine information reports and security assessments to an agreed and directed schedule.
  • Monitors local security related developments, providing accurate and timely reports to assess and Advises on matters relating to evacuation and emergency response.
  • Manages any security related incidents on the ground as directed by the Security Operations Superintendent in the Emergency response room.
  • Supervises and directs Kurdish security staff within the department as directed by Operations Security Superintendent.
  • Supports Community Relations at Company and local level in support of Project aims.
  • Manages all staff under authority professionally, fairly and reasonably in line with Company HR policies and protocol towards agreed objectives.

  • Mentors identified l LN Access control personnel with the aim of advancing them to junior management positions in the security department.
  • Liaises closely with Oil Police commanders at local level.
  • Acts as the companies' security representative in all community related security issues and provide accurate and timely feedback.
  • Monitors all CCTV applications and ensure the integrity of the CCTV security system is always maintained in the highest possible state .
  • Services and Outputs
  • Verifies and collects processing of monthly timesheets and duty statements as directed.
  • Ad hoc reports as requested or relevant on the current security situation.
  • Assists in the preparation and implementation of ongoing training schedules.
  • Quality control of contracted security provider and local staff.
  • Implements and adheres to the Company's HSE policy as specified at all levels.
  • Routine management of all security, operational, administrative and welfare issues of local teams including but not limited to movement control tasks and rig security tasks as directed by Security Superintendent.



Minimum Professional Experience Required

  • Bachelor degree in a Security related field
  • Considerable service at a minimum of Non Commissioned Officer, Commonwealth Forces or Police
  • Significant prior experience of providing security advice to commercial organizations in Iraq
  • Experience of planning and controlling security Operations in Iraq

Senior Completions Engineer

Our client, a leading owner/operator Oil & Gas organization is looking to add a Senior Completions Engineer to their team for a 6 - 9 month independent contract. This position will be based in the St. John's office, with the possibility of some offshore travel.

Job Overview:

The Completions Engineer will report to the Well Design Team Lead and is responsible for the technical performance of the company's completion and intervention activities. This individual will be responsible for the design and safe execution of well completion activities, writing technically safe, regulatory compliant and efficient well intervention programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for planning the safety performance at the wellsite in accordance with Company EHS goals, and according to Company Operational Excellence Management System (OEMS)
  • Responsible for planning and then supervising the execution of completion operations
  • Responsible for selecting suitable equipment and developing procedures together with the equipment manufacturers for assembly and operation
  • Responsible for monitoring timely reporting of operational and cost data
  • Responsible for capturing and implementing lessons learned form one program to another
  • Prepare and write planning documents (basis of design, operations programs),before assisting by monitoring the execution
  • Plan regulatory compliance
  • Communicate with Drilling or Production personnel as required


Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience within the Oil & Gas Industry
  • Minimum 10 years of direct supervisory experience
  • Offshore supervisory experience in executing completion/workover/intervention programs
  • Experience with Gas Lift Valve replacements
  • Experience with Large Bore Horizontal Xmas trees is essential
  • Experience in floating installations
  • Detailed knowledge of all aspects of completion operations

Sr. HSE Engineer

* Membership of a recognized professional engineering or HSE association/ institution is required.
* Minimum of 12 years experience in HSE management functions and exposure on construction safety for major Infrastructure and/or oil & gas projects of which at least last 5 years in similar HSE senior position for projects in reputable oil & gas Companies or EPIC Contractors.
* Familiar with HSE and Environmental regulatory regimes, international safety engineering codes and standards.
* Experience in development of project HSE related plans, philosophies and specifications. Relevant skills in HSE Studies, Environmental assessments and Project HSE Risk Registers.
* Exposure to Accident/Incident investigation, review and learning from HSE incidents.
* Experienced as auditor in key and critical HSE audits, inspections and reviews. Develop and maintain consolidated records, lessons learnt, Root Cause Analysis, etc.
* Extensive leadership skills to motivate and organise HSE and Contractor HSE Teams to achieve a high performance level.
* Proficient in the use of the English language (both written & spoken).
* Work experience in the Arabian Gulf Countries is desirable.
Education
* Bachelor Degree in an Engineering discipline from an internationally recognized University. In addition, NEBOSH or equivalent certification is required.
