-Lead the development, implementation and management of relevant metrics to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of the information security management systems, risk management and related compliance programs.

-Work with Business and IT Stakeholders to understand Cybersecurity requirements, data sets, key success criteria and issues which can be solved using analytics.

-Help to create intelligence reporting methods that communicate effectively to every level of the organization.

-Blend cyber threat and technical intelligence to create products that provide actionable intelligence and situational awareness.

We currently seek a Cooling Tower Engineer. For this role, the selected candidate will work alongside the Industrial Water Engineering group carrying out Project based assignments, this position will encompass Project Management, Sales Assistance, Estimations, Proposals and Planning.
For this position, the candidates can be based in Toronto ON, Edmonton AB or if required can work from home if highly experienced. For this position candidates at varying levels of seniority and experience will considered but a solid understanding of thermodynamics is essential.
Role Responsibilities:

  • Support product / development testing and design activities, and prepare product and design scopes.
  • Produce ratings and performance curves of thermal efficiencies to assist sales teams for proposals.
  • Produce thermal ratings for new and existing product lines.
  • Manages all project planning; i.e., clearly define scope and ensure clarity of project technical schedule and budget requirements, performs cash flow planning, manpower loading models; responsible for developing and maintaining required project records.
  • Prepare Bill of Material (BOM) for projects.
  • Review RFQ's and mechanical & structural design specifications to ensure they meet engineering and safety standards.
  • Works with or acts as Proposal Manager on customer requirements; i.e., reviews RFP (Request for Proposal) and specification, coordinates with sales and marketing to determine scope of work and is responsible for scope definition, prepares and/or approves all cost estimates, develops preliminary implementation plan, may assist in the estimating, proposal, and sales process, controls final negotiations on engineering/construction project.
  • This job does require a certain amount of travel as required.
  • Takes ownership to urgent issues in fast paced environments.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and individually on multifaceted tasks and projects.
  • Be detail oriented, and able to commit too and support a structured process to goal realization.


Required Qualifications:

  • P.Eng from either Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering discipline with equivalent industry experience
  • Strong understanding of thermodynamics and mechanical components working with Industrial Water systems and with higher emphasis in Industrial Cooling Towers.
  • 5 years industry experience in Cooling Tower Engineering, Heat Transfer Fluid Systems, Project Management, and Project Estimation.
  • A solid understanding of technical drawings and software packages such as AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.

The role will suit a developer who has played a key part in development projects, preferably in commodities or financial services environment. The developer will have significant SQL experience, and will have exposure to the full software development lifecycle. Experience with Business Objects and other analytics tools such as Tableau is also key.
The successful candidate will be a good all-rounder, with a "can-do" attitude and good communication skills. Enthusiasm and an ability to think "out-of-the-box" will be valued as will a focus on quality and teamwork.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Delivery of high quality software as part of the FinTech scrum team, with particular focus on datacentric and Business Analytics stories
  • Work closely with IT colleagues and users during the course of delivery to specify, design and develop high quality solutions
  • Contribute to overall architecture development to ensure modernisation of analytics environments by leveraging big data technologies, including integration with existing data and analytics platforms and tools (EDWs, data integration, BI platforms etc)
  • Participate in code reviews and unit testing.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent

Front-Office Senior Developer / Architect

Our client is one of the world's leading integrated producers and marketers of several commodities around the world They have worldwide activities in the production, sourcing, processing, refining, transporting, storage, financing and supply of metals and minerals and energy products.
We are looking for a skilled Senior Developer / Architect to work in their Front Office scrum team in London. The role will suit an individual who has made significant contributions to projects, preferably in commodities or financial services.
The successful candidate will have significant .Net (C#) experience in the full software development lifecycle, and will also have exposure to a range of other environments / stacks (e.g. Python, Java etc.) as well as Angular JS and other modern UI technologies. Exposure to SQL and/or SQL-based development is also important, especially relating to MS SQL Server but Oracle, Sybase ASE 15, and/or Sybase IQ is also of interest.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work as Senior Developer/Architect/Technical Lead in the Front Office Scrum, focussed on delivery of high-quality, well-engineered solutions
  • Work with FO Lead and peers to design and develop appropriate solutions to relevant to Front Office stakeholders
  • Work with Technical Leads, Developers, Project Managers and/or Analysts and/or users during the course of project delivery. This may include involvement in various phases of the application development project lifecycle.
  • Contribute to the overall design process for new projects and applications, and assist in ensuring alignment with the overall IT architecture and helping to develop out the latter to adjust with emerging standards in the marketplace
  • Architect, design and develop applications according to agreed coding standards and quality targets.
  • Ensure adherence to agreed development best practices.



EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Good Computer Science / Sciences / Engineering degree; some mathematical fluency required.
  • Significant experience in .Net development and SQL development
  • Significant experience in architecting/designing enterprise strength solution
  • Experience in working within multi-skilled team, ideally within an Agile environment
  • Experience in Commodities will be an advantage, especially in Front Office-related areas. SKILL SETS
  • Strong problem-solving skills; ability to devise and present practical and pragmatic solutions, in a coherent and articulate manner
  • Ability to develop high-quality and robust solutions.
  • Proven record in developing scalable, highly-available and highly-performing middle-tier components
  • Strongly focus on delivery.
  • A solid understanding and demonstrable exposure to C#
  • Python, Angular and Typescript / Javascript would be an advantage
  • Strong technical background in REST-based services and JSON.
  • Strong technical background in Service Oriented technologies (e.g. WCF, Web API) and message queues (e.g. ActiveMQ)
  • Exposure to Push technologies (e.g. SignalR, WebSockets) would be an advantage
  • Good understanding and awareness of modern design and development techniques, and the ability.
  • RDBMS design and development, with one or more of Sybase, SQL Server or Oracle-based
  • development being of particular interest.
  • Knowledge and understanding of test-driven development, and testing infrastructures.
  • Ability to communicate confidently with a wide range of people, in an open, candid and consistent manner.
