Petroplan is currently working with an oilfield service business who are in the process of increasing their Gulf of Mexico footprint. Due to this continued expansion, a need has arisen within the business to add a Geomechanical Engineer to their monitoring division to assist with the ongoing and upcoming projects on the US side of the Gulf.

In this position, you will report directly into the head of operations and work in a small team of well monitoring specialists responsible for overseeing the entirety of the Gulf of Mexico operations.

Job Description


Leads all new conventional exploration ventures for QP in EMAA region that has passed Deal Delivery stage and is entering venture execution.
> Executes initial exploration activity and navigates the venture through decision/exit points
> Leads exploration input to QP growth project in EMAA region
> Lead EMAA NOV venture teams
> Receive the new venture after Deal Delivery, and ensure that the venture is executed according to the QP venture
management standards, including:
- Business objectives, principles & standards are defined, e.g. HSSE commitment & policies, finance & accounting standards, information security standards etc.
- Venture is properly staffed and organized, with clarity on how the JV is structured with clear governance, management and service provider roles identified, mapped & communicated.
- Planning and performance appraisal and assurance processes are in place to assess the effectiveness of the JVs execution against plan.
> Responsible for up to date Decision Based Roadmaps for the venture , including technical and non technical risk inventories with mitigations and SMART actions, staff resourcing plan, stakeholder engagement plan and external communications plan.
> Responsible for project delivery, fully aligned with project management processes.
> Deliver effective financial management of the venture within QP systems
> Ensure that all of the Non-Technical Risks are fully mapped out and actively managed through clear mitigation plans.

> Minimum 10 yrs in an internation oil company
> Minimum 15 yrs overall experience
> Gravitas, experience and decisiveness to make independent (commercial & technical) judgments for maximum value to QP, including the ability to manage relations with senior stakeholders when required and building long term respect. Coaching and motivating skills.

Responsibilities: Under the broad direction from the Software Discipline Lead and the Chief Architect, the Software Architect will design and architect software systems to ensure they are aligned with business requirements. Additional responsibilities include the ability to:

Our Mobilisation team has a vital role in ensuring that high quality and standards are maintained when dealing with the mobilisation of contractors to our global client base. You will be dealing with both contractors and clients across a range of seniority levels. The work is complex and requires a mature, logical mind and perceptive approach as well as a patient, can-do attitude.

Job Description

  • Managing the new starter induction process for contractors commencing assignments with your allocated clients. This includes handling all mobilisation procedures such as travel, visas, work permits, offshore training, medicals and accommodation. It will involve close liaison with clients and contractors as well as our internal account managers, recruitment consultants and finance/payroll team
  • Key contact for assigned contractors, dealing with queries and complications promptly and efficiently
  • Developing and building on contractor and client relationships together with passing any key information/leads to the relevant account manager.
  • Updating, managing & monitoring contractor information on the internal database (full training will be provided)
  • Ensuring the relevant Accounts Managers and Recruiters are alerted of any relevant information about their contractors including contract amendments, extensions, terminations, payment issues (if they require escalation) and potential leads.
  • Managing the contractor's contract, renewal, amendments, and discussing new terms.
  • Tracking visas/work permits/medical renewals and rotation schedules.
  • Client and contractor visits


Job Requirements

  • Have 3-5 years admin experience within a fast-paced industry
