Seeking mechanically inclined Manual Machinists who are interested in a great opportunity to join a revamped and growing machine shop in North Houston.

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain fixtures, set-up tools, parts, and supplies intended for Manual Vertical Turret Lathe (VTL).
  • Operate machines to remove material to achieve required dimensions prior to the application of coatings, to finish coatings, or to establish part features.
  • Perform finishing operations when required, such as deburring, tapping, honing, and bench work.
  • Follow both written and verbal work instructions, use approved gages and tools to inspect parts to determine required material removal.
  • May be required to participate in repair development projects for new programs or repair development of new repairs of existing programs.


Qualifications:

  • One-year machining experience on one, all, or a combination of; set up and operation of: Vertical Turret Lathes (VTL); Horizontal Boring Mills (HBM); Manual VTL; Vertical Grinders; Horizontal Grinders; Horizontal Engine Lathe; Vertical Grinders and Horizontal Grinders.
  • Set-up experience with tooling, fixtures with the ability to follow instructions per technical drawings or work instructions.
  • Technical high school diploma, machinist trade school, or equivalent work experience.
  • General bench skills such as use of hand-held power tools, files, assembly and disassembly.

Senior Commissioning Engineer

Summary


To provide commissioning and start-up technical service all capital projects assigned and provide coordination between project and operation team. To prepare pre-commissioning and commissioning documentation (strategies, plans, procedures, quality , HSE, cost and schedule optimization) and ensure that it is at the full satisfaction of Operations. To provided commissioning, startup and operation input to the facilities/unit designs to ensure they are optimal, safe, cost effective and in compliance with the latest Codes, Standards, National and Corporate requirements and procedures with regards to commissioning, startup and operation.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Development of pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up strategy, plan and procedures for the project facilities all along the various stages of the project.
  2. Develop and maintain the care and custody handover roadmap for all project facilities
  3. Provide input to tender documents to ensure our client's objectives for commissioning, startup, and operations are met.
  4. Coordinate all commissioning, start-up and operational activities to achieve fully operational, fully functional and reliable facilities.
  5. Establish and define commissioning requirements for Long Lead Items (LLI's).
  6. Coordinate and facilitate the hand over to the Start-up team, support the start-up team activities.
  7. Supervise, coordinate, review and comment on all pre-commissioning and commissioning related engineering deliverables to ensure safe operability requirements have been fulfilled.
  8. Provide guidance to a team of Contract Commissioning Engineers and activities to achieve fully operational, fully functional, reliable and consistent facilities.
  9. Supervise, coordinate all aspects of commissioning, i.e. process units operations, pre-commissioning and commissioning coordination, scheduling and start-up for the scope of the project.
  10. Recommend commissioning spare parts and consumables.
  11. Facilitate the development and implementation of all engineering and vendors work for developing the operation manuals for all offshore and onshore units.
  12. Support the established Risk Management process in order to ensure successful and timely completion of the project.
  13. Support Qatari development activities by ensuring that Qatari Nationals receive the proper job training and development

Decision Making Authority

  • Operate within the framework of established company policies and departmental procedures, guided by engineering codes, standard practices and procedures. Work


accomplishments are not subject to third-party checks. The work is overviewed by the Project Operations Manager (OMP)/ Interface Manger (BHI).

  • Responsible for all inputs, plans, activities and decisions related to the commissioning and start up aspects of the scope for the project.
  • Key decisions during facilities design, construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning works affecting project cost and schedule.

Context/Special Features/Challenges

  • Exposed, for extended periods of time, to assignments overseas.
  • Exposed to different cultures, backgrounds and environments.
  • Exposed to offshore work environment during construction, installation, hook-up, commissioning, start-up and handover.

Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Experience


Minimum Qualification

  • B.Sc. Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering from an internationally recognized University.
  • Membership in a recognised professional engineering association (or institution) is preferable.


Experience/Knowledge/Skills

  • Minimum of 12 - 15 years' experience of relevant construction & commissioning experience in Oil & Gas major onshore/offshore projects/multi-package portfolio (from Project Concept, FEED, engineering, construction and commissioning), of which a minimum of 7 years as a Commissioning Engineer in a supervisory capacity on a major project with a reputed engineering consultancy, EPIC contractors or Oil & Gas Company.
  • "Mastery" level experience within the commissioning phase of offshore Oil & Gas processing, compression and utilities facilities, WHJ's, pipelines, living quarter and Onshore Gas Processing Facilities.
  • Experienced in developing pre-commissioning and commissioning plans, defining and managing the coordination programme/scheme with Operation and Maintenance Representatives.
  • Experienced in Mechanical completions practices and standards, technical specification and standards.
  • Proven ability to embed all operation requirements and lessons learned in the design deliverables, without additional contractual obligation, with integrity and in a safe, cost effective manner.
  • Experienced in the implementation of Industry best practices and Company's systems, processes and standards.

- Responsible for support of DCS Operators, and supervision of Lead operator, and Field Operators
together with DCS Operators. Specialist Panel Operator works very closely with DCS Operators to
convey their instruction to all Field Operators. They report to the Shift Supervisor and/or Specialist
Shift Supervisor.
- Read processing schedules, operating logs, test results of samples, and laboratory recommendations
to determine changes in equipment controls required to produce specified quantity and quality of
product.
- Monitor the operating conditions constantly to ensure the quick resolution of abnormal operational
situations and set controls to adjust process variables, such as flows, temperatures and pressures.
- Responsible for recording, compiling, reporting and documenting operating data, and monitoring
process indicators.
- Coordinate the startup, shutdown and normal operations with the outside operators
- Perform basic calculations for determining process parameters and material balances.
- In the event of any incidents, evaluates the root causes and determines remedial actions and involves
the section manager, deputy section manager and shift supervisor when necessary.
- Participate in the development of training programs as well as building up the operation team and
ensuring their competence for the tasks in the assigned area.

Petroplan is currently working with a private equity backed E&P business who are in the process of increasing their Gulf of Mexico footprint. Due to this continued expansion, a need has arisen within the business to add a Spanish speaking Drilling Engineer to their Gulf of Mexico operations division to assist with the ongoing and upcoming projects on both the US and Mexican side of the Gulf.

In this position, you will report directly into the Drilling Manager and be heavily involved in the planning and execution phases of the drilling program. You will be involved with ensuring that all activities are planned, scheduled and executed to achieve the agreed requirements in a safe and efficient manner. Key challenges will include:

  • Establishing and promoting safety and environmental performance expectations with employees and contractors in accordance with the Company's safety policies and Safe Sound initiative.
  • Preparing operational plans for planned wells and liaising with other departments when required
  • Being responsible for drilling optimization, identifying best practises and running lessons learned when required
  • Travelling to the field is required as and when needed
  • Dealing with third party vendors with a strong focus on cost and performance

Experienced Required

  • Fluent Spanish speaking
  • At least 10 years of Drilling Engineering experience
  • Offshore experience (Gulf of Mexico preferred)

Due to continued growth, our client is in the process of expanding their operations into the Calgary area and are in need of a Field Engineer to operate as a Field Deployment Engineer in order to expand into the Alberta Market.

Our client has spent years developing new imaging technology that is capable of detecting and identifying a wide variety of down hole problems. Which in turn reduces cost, increases efficiency and fixes problems.

The Position
We're looking for an established Wireline Field Engineer who will be working with a wide variety of oil and gas operators, service companies, deployment systems and will be personally responsible for the successful execution of each job.


Requirements:

  • 3-7 yrs experience.
  • Extensive Wireline and Logging knowledge and experience.
  • Experience with downhole equipment, well construction and completions.
  • Mechanical or Electrical Degree.
