Location: Ghana. Accra

Please note: all applicants are required to have Ghanaian nationality

JOB DESCRIPTION AND PROFILE

This position will be located at the shore/logistics base and will provide materials and logistics co-ordination function to support well construction and project management.

Reports directly to the Drilling Superintendent.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 20 years in the Oil & Gas Industry and at least 6 years as Senior Infra structure engineer and relevant Logistics Management experience
  • Operator experience, especially IOC, will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in Inventory systems, Shipping and Warehousing

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or higher diploma in any engineering or science discipline. Civil engineering will be a preference.
  • BOSIET certification

Minimum Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably mechanical, petroleum, or chemical engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience as a Drilling Engineer, with 5 years of this experience as an OCTG technical engineer

Duties & Responsibilities

  • You will be a specialist within oil field tubulars'; this will include Tubing and Casing Drill Pipe, HW Drill Pipe, and Drill Collars
  • You will have extensive experience in BHA products, applications, industry standards, and inspection requirements. You will have in-depth field experience in supporting trouble shooting during running and make up, or the inspection of tubulars
  • Audit and qualify manufacturers and service providers including tubular running, inspection, repair machine shops, and coating applicators
  • Be responsible for the qualification and standardization of equipment
  • Evaluate new technologies, alternatives and co-ordinate any trial tests of equipment
  • Develop scopes of work and provide sketches for equipment modifications or coating
  • Review technical bids from suppliers as part of the OCTG items purchasing process
  • Evaluate potential casing running, tubular inspection and machine shop companies
  • Maintain technical data of OCTG within the Drilling Web

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a recognized and approved program with 7 years of experience working in drilling and workover operations including adequate supervisory experience

OR

High School degree with 13 years of relevant experience in drilling and workover operations including supervisory experience

As a subject matter expert:

Be able to supervise drilling and completion operations of both oil or gas horizontal wells in a safe and efficient manner while following a defined drilling program

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate deliveries of materials to the well to ensure it is available when required.
  • Work with Drilling and Workover engineers to see that modern drilling practices are followed
  • Approve contractor daily tour reports
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as directed by the superintendent.
  • Assure that rig and personnel comply with established safety standards and procedures

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluation of the current drilling practices within operator and its contractor
  • Implementation of an efficient well delivery business process leading to lowering of drilling cost and accelerating production
  • Ensure the correct management of the drilling operations by optimizing the assets and equipment and supervising the execution of the activities
  • Minimizing HSE incident level
  • Review detailed job programs for its compliance with well delivery process
  • Develop and execute well delivery plans

Requirements

  • Significant technical and contractual competency
  • Have demonstrated the ability to manage multiple drilling rigs at one time in a safe and cost-effective manner
  • Have experience drilling directional wells along with a detailed understanding of directional and horizontal drilling techniques and equipment
  • Technical skills: 20 years of well delivery experience in upstream Oil & Gas industry. Including managing day rate and turnkey contracts
