Petroplan recently published an employer survey with an industry research partner; the study estimated that since 2014 the contract recruitment market globally has reduced by over 40%. This decline has meant recruitment businesses have needed to diversify to survive this decline in vacancies. North Sea Opportunities

Petroplan continues to operate an office in Aberdeen. The traditional vacancies serviced by Petroplan such as offshore drilling and operations have diminished in number. However, the need for talent has started to show some signs of recovery. The activity of mergers and acquisitions in the territory has also revealed opportunities for professionals.

Petroplan is also a member of Decom NorthSea, an association for organisations that are allied to the North Sea decommissioning sector.  Many decommissioning projects are still to receive funding, however, the beginning has started with the Brent Delta Topside towed to Teeside for dismantling.

This is a great opportunity for the North Sea oil and gas community to hone these transferable skills for global export as the need for decommissioning spreads over the coming decades. Oil and gas recruitment in the UK will change but we will continue to source and place talent in key roles that will drive the future of the industry in this region.

In the UK, Petroplan have 3 offices. Our headquarters reside in Guildford in the South of England from where our business services operate. In London, our largest recruitment team services our EMEA client base. At our Aberdeen  office we have local support for our North Sea and Scottish employers.

Many of our people train in the UK and get the opportunity to work in one of our other international offices. Our team are from diverse cultures and backgrounds and all receive training to support our specialist discipline approach. We have teams that specifically focus on the technical skills within oil and gas. These include engineering, geology, drilling and marine.
