Project Manager/Engineer CCUS/CCS

Our client is a world leader in membrane separation technology. Their industrial separations business areas include the petrochemical, refining, power, and natural gas industries. They manufacture membrane materials and design gas separation systems to utilize membrane separation technology for their customers.

This company is working on exciting new carbon capture technologies and is looking for a highly motivated project manager to work with our team of talented engineers and researchers in the carbon capture division. This project manager will be responsible for managing our new carbon capture projects. Job responsibilities include:

  • Define and manage the project scope.
  • Create and manage project schedules using Microsoft Project to ensure each project is completed within the given timeframe.
  • Manage the project budget with regards to project resources, equipment purchases, and outside contractors.
  • Manage changes in scope and design including cost, resources, and schedule.
  • Specify, review and/or comment on process equipment sizing and selection including gas blowers, compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and others.
  • Generate, review and/or comment on technical documents such as P&ID, process flow. diagrams, general arrangement drawings, 3D models, and others.
  • Manage resources from different departments within the company.
  • Manage external contractors and EPCs from an owner-project manager's perspective.
  • Create a Project Charter, Statement of Work, Work Breakdown Structure, and Project Closeout Plan for each project.
  • Review, negotiate and approve terms and conditions with outside contractors and suppliers.
  • Issue purchase order requisitions and manage delivery progress of purchased parts and equipment.
  • Continually monitor and report on project performance. This includes creating monthly project update reports for all stakeholders within the company.
  • Manage all incoming and outgoing project documents.
  • Lead project meetings with internal and external stakeholders. Create and distribute meeting minutes.

Job Requirements:

  • 8-12 years of industrial project management and/or technical experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Organized and timely on all aspects of the job
  • Ability to work in a team setting
  • Ability to work remote effectively.
  • Experience in risk identification and management.
  • Strong familiarity with common process design practices and related engineering elements (process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, instruments and controls, general arrangement of equipment, etc.)
  • Experience in managing projects over $10 million.
  • Mastery of Microsoft Project, Word, and Excel programs.

Preferred Requirements:

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certificate or equal.
  • Experience in the power, petrochemical, refinery, or natural gas industry.
  • Experience in rotating equipment (fans, compressors, and pumps) industry.
  • Experience resolving project issues in the field, participating in HAZOPs, and assisting with commissioning activities on industrial systems.
