My client is an industry leader in instrumentation, controls systems and equipment utilized within Petrochemicals, Refineries and process facilities. They are looking to bring on an experienced engineer to join the team to work at one of their client's facilities located in Northern Alabama. This role will start out as a contract but could extend into a long-term contract or potential to transfer to permanent status. Please see the details below regarding the responsibilities and requirements.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Provide preventative and corrective maintenance on systems, equipment, and products
  • Conduct various function testing on equipment/systems for troubleshooting
  • Answer technical questions and concerns of the clients
  • Proficient with hardware and software components of DCS systems
  • Will act as the face of the company while on site with a heavy customer service focus
  • Identify areas of concern, risk, and/or improvement
  • Manage various task and duties at any given time
  • Must maintain thorough knowledge, products, and services of the client
  • Ability to travel overnight and be on a 24 hour call at times

Education/Experience:

  • S. Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related
  • Work experience can be supplemented in lieu of degree
  • 5 years of related experience in the design and implementation of process control systems.
  • Must have knowledge of basic control system hardware, software, and applications
  • Strong communication skills

Petroplan are supporting a major Oil and Gas Operator in the search for a candidate to take up the role of Senior Controls and Instrumentation Engineer.

Day to day you will be supporting the rotating equipment maintenance team's objective in ensuring the reliability and availability of the critical rotating equipment fleet. Which includes GE LM2500's, Siemens RB211's, Solar Centaur 40's and Siemens SGT100'S, driving gas compressors and generators.

Analyse maintenance records to determine control and instrument failure rates, availability / reliability calculations, bad actor / failure modes identification, and program effectiveness / cost analysis

Candidate Desirables

  • Bachelor's degree from recognized university in Electrical, Automation, or Control and Instrumentation Engineering or demonstrate enough experience, capabilities and knowledge for the role if only technical diploma is held (Minimum 10 years' experience working in oil and gas or Energy Industry)
  • Must have strong background with LM2500's Gas Turbine controls, and CCC compressor controls
  • Must have strong background in Gas Turbine power generation controls

Wellsite Geologist

Petroplan is actively recruiting for a Wellsite Geologist for a deepwater Gulf of Mexico project.

This contract opportunity is an offshore role working on a 14/14 rotation scedule.


The primary role of the Wellsite Geologist is to monitor, QC and integrate all the geological data being collected while drilling, i.e. cutting descriptions, LWD data, wireline log data, dynamic drilling data etc., effectively managing geological data and working alongside the personnel that supply it, i.e. Mudloggers and LWD Engineers, and working with Drilling staff in communicating well objectives to service personnel as a whole.

The Wellsite Geologist will be comparing results with the offset well data to build an integrated understanding of the stratigraphy, i.e. reservoir and overburden. Critically, on sub salt drilling projects, they also have the added responsibility as the first line in the monitoring of subsurface pore pressure and wellbore stability via cuttings, log observations and drilling parameters. They are also the main contact between the rig and the sub-surface team in town and contribute to routine and ad-hoc meetings and communication, standard deliverables and logistical planning.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • 10 years' experience as a wellsite geologist
  • 5 years' experience in deepwater gulf of Mexico
  • Offshore certification required for this role
  • Prior experience working for an oil and gas company in a similar capacity


Daily deliverables include:
* Daily Geological Report
* Composite Log (product of the integration of LWD, mudlog data and interpretation)
* QC mudlogging and LWD deliverables

*Wellsite Geologists contribute to final end-of-well reporting and other deliverables and essentially draft sections of these whilst working offshore also.*

Subsea Engineer, Manifolds and Connection Systems Discipline Engineer
Work Location The role is based in London or Aberdeen
Role Synopsis (NTID & Candidate details for facilitated moves) Global Subsea Systems is responsible for the specification, design, delivery, and maintenance of Subsea Production Systems (SPS). This includes components from the wellhead through to flow line entry as well as miscellaneous topsides elements. acts as single face to the subsea hardware suppliers for equipment design procurement, storage, maintenance, and onshore repair.
The Subsea Engineer for Manifold and Connection Systems discipline engineering will lead engineering execution of manifolds and connection systems scope across projects in the Eastern Hemisphere, as well as support the development of engineering standards related to equipment.
Key Accountabilities:
* Provide support to project teams as needed in the development of system requirements, such as Subsea Basis of Design, P&IDs, field layouts, system schematics, etc.;
* Develop/review project scopes of work, functional requirements, SDRLs, hardware equipment lists, design verification plans, etc. in support of hardware RFQs;
* Provide input to suppler technical bid evaluations;
* Provide regular status reports to lead engineer for manifold and connection systems;
* Perform design verification activities (e.g. equipment design reviews, drawing & analysis reviews and test & installation procedure reviews);
* Review technology readiness assessments and qualification plans, procedures and reports against API 6A/17D requirements for subsea connection systems;
* Develop, review, endorse engineering decision papers;
* Review and endorse supplier deviation requests, change requests, technical queries, and interface requests;
* Liaise with SMEs to provide technical support to project teams, delivery teams and suppliers for resolution of engineering issues.
* Develop and collate lessons learned for manifold and connection system equipment and disseminate across projects;
* Contribute constructability perspectives in equipment design and constructability reviews, fabrication readiness reviews.
* Perform fabrication site visits for pre-production meetings, testing support and HSSE influence;
* Support planning of aftermarket activities, including development of scopes of work, development of SIT procedures, etc;
* Provide support and input to Subsea Construction Team as required for development of installation and commissioning plans/procedures, rigging design and analysis, and execution of offshore activities and troubleshooting;



Essential Experience and Job Requirements

Must hold a Bachelor's in Engineering Degree


* 6 years of oilfield experience, including major plant or process piping construction;
* Technical expertise with manifolds, foundations, jumpers/ spools, connectors and valves;
* Knowledge of subsea hardware suppliers' engineering and manufacturing processes and constraints and knowledge of standard equipment offerings from suppliers;
* Experienced in application of industry standards and codes related to subsea hardware and systems including API 6A & 17D, ASME BPVC, ASME B31.8, API RP-17P, API RP-17R, API RP-2A, and API RP-2GEO as well as ISO, DNV and NORSOK equivalent specifications;
* Experience in performing or reviewing piping and structural analyses for manifolds, foundations and/or jumpers;
* Experience with factory acceptance testing requirements for subsea equipment;
* Knowledge of structural and piping fabrication and NDE;
* Knowledge of common subsea hardware materials of construction;
* Professional Accreditation (PE or Chartership).

Desirable Criteria:
* Knowledge of installation methodologies and installation interfaces with manifold and connection system equipment;
* Knowledge of major valve suppliers and their standard equipment offerings;
* Knowledge of production control equipment and its interfaces with manifold and connection system equipment;
* Broad experience with major projects through full project life cycle;
* Knowledge of processes for change management, risk management, deviation requests, and reliability planning and management.

Within the Liquid Pipelines Unit, this individual will:

  • Identify and support the implementation of predictive technology, evaluate data. Develop equipment maintenance plans.
  • Develop preventive maintenance procedures to provide effective and efficient solutions to improve reliability.
  • Participate in regulatory preventive maintenance system audits as deemed necessary by management.

  • Lead root cause failure analysis effort to determine failure modes.

Key Requirements

Education:

  • Preferably 2-3 years of relevant experience as a Project Assistant, Personal Assistant, Secretary or in other relevant administrative role
  • Experience with administrative work is an advantage
