Our client, a leading Oil & Gas owner/operator is looking to add a SAGD Facilities Engineer to their team. This is a 9 month independent contract based in downtown Calgary.

Position Summary

The Water Treatment Facilities Engineer will be part of the Contact Engineering team that use their skills to work closely with site operations to extract maximum value from the facilities while managing safety and risk.

Key Accountabilities

  • Plant optimization through programs applied across the facility
  • Daily operational process performance monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Develop organizational relationships to increase role effectiveness
  • Find engineering solutions to short term value opportunities
  • Complete economic evaluation to assess various options to address issues or opportunities
  • Support the development of Staff engineering initiatives
  • Leveraging the Facilities Eng. / Discipline team to complete minor plant modifications
  • Manage the portfolio of short - medium term opportunities in their area of accountability
  • Manage minor scope engineering changes from conception to completion
  • Ensure HSE issues are given priority consideration by complying with all corporate and operating procedures to align with corporate safety standards and expectations


Key Requirements

  • Recognized Engineering Degree
  • Active professional membership with APEGA
  • SAGD water treatment experience
  • 10 years of experience within the Oil & Gas Industry
  • Process Equipment Design Experience
  • Process Safety Management Experience
  • Experience and ability to work within a team-oriented and diverse cultural environment
  • Strong written and oral communications skills

- Candidate is responsible for order placement and general administration related to purchasing, in response to material requirements.
- Ensures day to day procurement activities comply with established policies and procedures.
- Creates and maintains purchase orders.
- Expedites, de- expedites, and issues change orders to meet manufacturing, field plant, or project demands.
- Assists in creating request for quotations (RFQ) and organizing competitive biddings from various suppliers to obtain the best quality, delivery, and price for goods and services.
- Maintains data integrity and accuracy of purchasing files and records.
- Analyzes and resolves basic Goods Receipt and Invoice Receipt issues (GRIR) with assistance as needed.
- Assists in assessing supplier performance.

Qualifications:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Project Controls Analyst

Our client, a large Oil & Gas owner/operator organization is looking to add a Project Controls Analyst to their team. This is a 9 month independent contract based in downtown Calgary.

Reporting to the PMO Program Manager, you will be responsible for updating and maintaining the Integrated Project Plan, RAID, and other similar program controls. This will include analysis, progress monitoring and reporting etc. As a Project Controls Analyst you will interact daily with work stream leads either to obtain updates or provide project controls services as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the work streams to maintain the Integrated Project Plan & Milestones.
  • Working with the Program Manager and work stream leads, coordinate meetings to identify project & program risks and interdependencies, and baseline the Integrated Project Plan on a predetermined frequency. Baselining includes identifying changes to scope, schedule & cost and ensuring related approvals & documentation are in place before adjusting baselines.
  • Support the Program Manager by creating and maintaining the tools/templates & processes to track and manage resourcing, budgeting, scope, and schedule changes across the program.
  • Report potential variances to resourcing, scope, budget, and schedules to the PMO in a timely manner.
  • At the direction of the Program Manager, support risk & change management processes as required.
  • Coordinate the creation and maintenance of the Program RAID, including incorporating RAID items as they apply to program from work streams.
  • Perform schedule, resource, and cost and/or risk analysis as required.
  • Provide services to the work stream leads in the planning, resourcing and control framework.
  • From time to time, PMO members may be asked to provide support in other areas.


Key Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education.
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of progressively more responsible work experience in project control within the Oil & Gas/Energy Sector
  • Advanced skill with MS products, especially expertise in Excel and Project, as well as Outlook, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management principles and processes, and a proven ability to apply this knowledge in the project control of large and complex undertakings, especially those related to scope, schedule, resourcing, cost, risk, and change control.
  • Formal Project Management training and financial acumen would be assets.
  • Advanced level capability in the development of project schedules/plans.
  • Proven ability to conduct variance analysis on project schedule, resourcing and cost performance.
  • Project risk management experience and/or knowledge would be a strong asset.
  • Attention to detail, analytic abilities, a 'service' mind-set and reporting are essential to this role.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with others.

Job Responsibilities

  • Obtain updates for reports from work stream leads, validate formatting, grammar, spelling and terminology, and consolidate reports as required for the PMO.
  • Manage Outlook project calendars, book meeting rooms, record and compile meeting minutes/decisions/actions, manage all logistics required for the meeting/workshop, including but not limited to creating/consolidating agendas & presentations and ensure meeting room technology is operational in a timely manner.
  • Follow up and ensure actions and decisions are carried through in a timely manner, and update documentation and/or the PMO accordingly.
  • Oversee central storage location for program and project documentation (meeting minutes, decision records, project artifacts, contracts, test documentation & signoffs, etc) and provide assistance to work streams in ensuring appropriate artifacts are completed for each stage gate/milestone.
  • Help prepare presentations and reports as required.
  • Provide general administrative support to the PMO and work streams.
  • Process Contracts, Agreements and Purchase Orders according to company policies and procedures.
  • Create and update program organizational charts.
  • Provide on/off-boarding support to members in the program.
  • Provide communications/bulletins to PMO, stakeholders and work streams as required.
  • Arrange travel and prepare expense reports specific to the program.
  • From time to time, PMO members may be asked to provide support in other areas.



Required Qualifications
Experience and Education:

  • Minimum of 5 years administrative experience required.
  • Post-secondary education.
  • Oil & Gas and/or large complex program experience will be an asset.



Skills and Knowledge:

  • Excellent oral and written communication, including proofreading and editing skills, critical to this role.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in network document management and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to set priorities, follow-up and coordinate the efforts of others, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with others.
  • Attention to detail, analytic abilities, a 'service' mind-set and reporting are essential to this role.

Our client, a leading Oil & Gas owner/operator organization is looking to add a Human Resources Coordinator to their team. This is a 3 month independent contract based here in downtown Calgary.

Reporting to the PMO Program Manager, you will be responsible to provide administrative and coordination support to the People Readiness team lead, provide support for tactical HR deliverables for the ST&O Transformation team etc.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule meetings, training sessions, and workshops on behalf of the People Readiness Lead and HR COE leads with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), leaders, and/or employees and provide support to ensure rooms are set up appropriately for facilitators.
  • Attend meetings, training sessions, and workshops with HR facilitators to capture detailed notes from the conversation and consolidate them in an organized format so that the HR facilitator can disseminate qualitative information quickly and translate to the business.
  • Take down actions agreed to in meetings or in workshops and consolidate the information for HR facilitators to summarize in emails, decks, etc. Complete follow-ups with participants and forward updates and questions to the HR facilitators to manage.
  • Coordinate the printing of plotter-sized slides/documents for facilitators to capture notes during working sessions and then consolidate the information back into slides for them.
  • Support the development of impactful materials and use a strong attention to detail to review them for consistency (e.g. presentation or training decks, communication plans).
  • Build relationships with the business and support the development of the foundational learning elements by obtaining inputs from SMEs as part of a needs assessment and design. Consolidate all relevant information for the Learning Advisor to expedite the work.
  • Follow up with HR leads on tasks/milestones on the People Readiness project plan that appear to be at risk of not being delivered. Demonstrate agility and a learning orientation by understanding how to step in and assist them in meeting the deliverable.
  • Partner with the Analyst(s) from the PMO to integrate the People Readiness project plan with the overall ST&O Transformation project plan to understand shared milestones.


Key Requirements

  • 2 - 4 years of HR experience, preferably within the Oil & Gas/Energy sector.
  • HR experience in learning, competencies, or talent management an asset
  • Post Secondary degree, preferably with a major in Human Resources
  • CPHR candidate or CPHR designation an asset
  • Strong time management, prioritization, and organization skills
  • Strong Power Point, Outlook, and Excel skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships internally with HR and with the client group
  • Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment

Position: Owner Relations /Lease Analyst/Division Order Analyst

Petroplan is currently working with an expansion focused E&P business who are in the process of increasing their operations team in their Houston base and due to this continued growth, a need has arisen within the business to add an experienced Owner Relations analyst to their operations division to assist with the ongoing and upcoming unconventional projects.

In this position, you will be involved analysing and validating ownership, property and production information related to the core business processes. This includes review of all leases and related contracts captured in Quorum Land System. Key challenges will include:

  • Contributing to the setup, revision and maintenance of all division order information in SAP/PRA which includes understanding and manipulating unit tracts, bearer groups, and all other related system required data in SAP/PRA.
  • Responding to phone calls, emails and correspondence from mineral owners and working interest partners regarding title issues, inquiries and account questions.
  • Adhering to internal document management process to ensure correspondence, instruments, records, and all other data are filed, imaged and indexed appropriately for retrieval and analysis.
  • Contribute to and support lean practices in all aspects of the role as the company moves toward a distinctive lean culture.

You must have at least 5 years of experience, including experience in oil and gas operations, ideally within land operations. Experience working with PRA/SAP is preferred and preferably a Bachelor's degree.

Suitable candidates will be a driven, autonomous, self-motivated safety professional who is passionate and hungry to succeed.
