About the opportunity:
The successful applicant will be responsible for Financial Reporting and analysis duties including analysis of capital and operating results, preparation of monthly journal entries and reports, Sarbanes Oxley coordination, and accounting research.

Main responsibilities:

  • Financial accounting and reporting for the related properties including: monthly accrual entries, monthly reporting, analytical review and account reconciliations
  • Liaise and meet with the capital and operations engineers to discuss and review results.
  • Fixed asset system maintenance and control. Ensure the accuracy of modules and implement necessary financial system changes/modifications/controls as required
  • Adhoc project work and initiatives
  • Complete annual ARO and semi-annual DD&A rate setting
  • Prepare miscellaneous month end review and analysis
  • MDG requestor for changes to master data details such as accounts and cost centers
  • Prepare audit working papers and respond to external audit and sox queries



You will also need to possess the following

  • A degree in Commerce, Accounting, or equivalent
  • Professional Accounting Designation - preference given to CA designation
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional accounting experience
  • Knowledge of the Oil & Gas Industry
  • Knowledge of US GAAP
  • SAP Experience
  • Hyperion Experience considered an asset

Living Quarters Lead

Description:

This is a long term 1 year contract with a large Oil and Gas Company based in on-site in Marystown, NFLD. They are looking for an individual with a great work ethic and awareness of EHS Practices. If this is you, apply now!

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Demonstrate leadership of EHS initiatives: participation in the behavioral based safety program and demonstrate proactive safety intervention
* Provide oversight on the LQC and Ancillaries Contractor(s) EIT fabrication and construction activities. Report schedule progress.
* Review and approve the LQC and Ancillaries Contractor(s) EIT installation and construction procedures for conformance to specification and good practice
* Inspect procured materials for conformance to specifications
* Conduct in-process reviews of EIT installation
* Liaise with the Certifying Authority on-site Representative
* Verify quality of the electrical and instrumentation installation. Witness testing. Verify the quality of the completed work and sign off MCCRs
* Proactively solve issues and develop work-arounds with the LQC and Ancillaries Contractor(s) during fabrication and construction
* Review LQC and Ancillaries Contractor(s) red-line mark-ups of AFC drawings
* Assist Cost Specialist in assessing LQC and Ancillaries Contractor(s) change requests

MUST HAVE Qualifications:
* 15 years of experience in the installation of EIT and oversight of contractors
* Demonstrated awareness and proactive approach to EHS
* Extensive experience and understanding of project execution practices, including engineering, fabrication, and construction
* Permit to Work Training
* Construction Safety Training including CSE, Working at Heights, Energy Isolation, and SIMOPS
* Self-motivated with a positive attitude and excellent problem-solving skills
* Strong communication skills (written, oral, and computer)
* Demonstrated ability to work with and supervise trades and technicians
* Ability to recognize and resolve conflict

NICE to HAVE Qualifications:
* Red Seal Certification in Electrical/Instrumentation

Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer
A great opportunity to work with a large mining company in Calgary. This is a contract position but strong possibility of extension. Looking for candidates with experience in the following:

  • Experience with mine waste and tailings design; understanding of soil mechanics and rock mechanics;
  • slope stability analysis; seepage analysis; design of large scale construction features for mining sites (tailings dam and containment structures; roads and pipelines; waste storage; ore stockpiles; instrumentation; reclamation);
  • proficient in engineering softwares; data analysis; communication skills; and report writing ability.



Major Responsibilities

  • Provide geotechnical engineering support to mine waste and tailings management projects
  • Carry out engineering data analyses and design work for projects at stages ranging from scoping to detailed engineering and construction
  • Possibly some travel to mine sites to carry out geotechnical investigations, instrument installation, and construction quality assurance for dams
  • Assist with planning and supervising geotechnical subsurface investigations
  • Assist with writing geotechnical reports and technical communications;
  • Provide support to senior geotechnical engineer / geotechnical manager



Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (geotechnical, civil or a related field)
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA)
  • minimum 5 years of experience (preference given to Oil & Gas [Oil Sands] experience in large civil earthworks construction mining related projects, which include: field construction, performance monitoring, construction quality assurance, inspection and testing)
  • Perform field and environmental investigations for Gas or Oil exploration and construction development projects
  • Proficient in engineering software (Geo-Slope; MineScape; AutoCAD; Microsoft Office)
  • Skilled in data interpretation; analysis and correlation
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a small team setting; and foster effective working relationships with their peers
  • Previous experience in Oil Sands operations will be an asset.

Geotechnical Engineer

  • Experience with civil engineering and construction oversight within an operating mine, including construction oversight; mine waste and tailings design;

Our current client is a major mining company and the successful candidate will be working on a team of professionals in an operating Mine facility.

  • Work onsite - providing geotechnical engineer support for construction and ensure quality work is being followed to specifications

  • Carry out on-site engineering data analyses and determine appropriate actions for follow-up
  • Carry out geotechnical investigations, instrument installation, and construction quality assurance for dams; roads; building and other mine site infrastructure
  • Assist with planning and supervising geotechnical subsurface investigations

Job Responsiblities

  • Facilitate and perform qualitative and quantitative risk assessments with stakeholders using historical data, probabilistic tools, reliability data, etc.
  • Support the planning and coordination of Process Hazard Analysis for projects and existing facilities
  • Provide technical support to stakeholders in establishing the context for risk assessments and developing an appropriate execution and treatment plan
  • Ability to research industry data and models to support risk assessment and enhance risk processes
  • Ensure likelihood and consequence assessments are completed consistently and with sound logic
  • Support and facilitate the implementation and communication of risk registers
  • Coordinates training programs, prepare and present educational training on Hazard & Risk Management policy and processes (enbu, PHA)
  • Accountable for appropriately escalating risk with clear and transparent communications to stakeholders and People Leader
  • Support Risk Advisory team with development of risk assessment models, processes and reports
  • Support the development of stakeholder risk management processes
  • Responsible for the implementation of PHA and process improvements
  • Responsible for the quality and compliance of risk register process
  • Responsible for the Hazard and Risk Management training programs

Qualifications

  • University degree (e.g. Business, Engineering preferred).
  • Minimum of four years of experience in process safety, business analysis, or process governance.
  • Able to work collaboratively and effectively with a diverse team.
  • Knowledge of oil and gas pipeline operations
