Assess feasibility and track all project opportunities, critically analysing their potential to meet strategic targets
Support in preparation, submission and successful receipt of project permits including Environmental applications, civil aviation, land use, grid connection, other planning permits.
Negotiate land lease agreements with landowners and manage resource measurement campaigns
Manage development consultant scopes, appointments, and delivery.
Conduct site visits, engage with relevant stakeholders across South Africa and the region.
Prepare detailed budget build ups, tracking, expense tracking and reporting.
Compiling and presenting projects for internal reports and co-ordinating forums for key development decisions.
Support in developing and refining market strategies and positions with key team members.
Manage projects through all aspects of the development life cycle from inception to financial close
Skills / Competencies
Outstanding organisational skills and project management experience.
Project development experience in renewable energy (wind and Solar PV).
Knowledge of battery energy storage and experience in practically working with battery storage or similar projects.
Required to have supported in detailed competitive tender submissions.
Experience in budgeting and budget tracking and reporting skills.
Negotiation experience on land agreements.
Strong analytical, strategic and critical thinking.
Problem solving and an individual who show initiative to take on challenges and find solutions.
Strong English written and verbal business communication skills.
Skilled in MS word, excel, power point and MS project required

Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications
Experience in the origination of the Solar PV and Wind energy projects is critical with experience of the South African Renewable Energy Independent Power Producers Program or similar recent competitive tenders required.
A minimum undergraduate degree in Town Planning, Environmental Science, Law, or Engineering (Electrical, Civil, Mechanical), is preferred.
A minimum 3-years work experience, with outstanding experience in energy infrastructure development (preferably renewable power) development and permitting activities.
Additional spoken languages are beneficial, especially: Zulu, Xhosa or Portuguese.

Managing of the engineering activities of the engineering department in relation to wind projects, aligned with the Head of Engineering and Commissioning
Management of junior wind engineers and performance engineers who report directly to the lead wind energy engineer
Management of any external engineering consultants
Management of Wind Turbine Control & Instrumentation and SCADA Engineering in alignment with the lead electrical engineer
Technical evaluation of private off-taker or government RFP documents and PPAs
The compilation of concept / FEED level wind farm designs (layouts, WTG configurations, etc.) at Development and Transaction phases of projects for the purposes of achieving favorable levelized cost of energy.
The compilation of internal Forecast Energy Sales Reports (FESR) for wind projects and the management of external wind energy yield consultants for the production of bankable FESRs and, where required, independent review reports (FESIRs).
The compilation of CAPEX and OPEX cost estimates for financial model purposes for Wind Projects
Producing bid deliverables relating to Wind Projects
The compilation of technical specifications and Employer's Requirements for Wind Projects
The compilation of RFP / RFQ documents (drawings, specifications, returnable documents) for Turbine Supply Agreements (TSA), EPC Contracts and/or O&M contracts
Technical evaluation and negotiations with TSA Contractors, EPC Contractors and/or O&M Contractors
Support to Project Engineers during execution phase of projects
Ensuring that the designs and installations meet the client's requirements and all the relevant safety regulations.
Technical support to Project Managers, Construction Managers, Site Supervisors and Commissioning Managers for site activities during execution phase of projects
The review and acceptance of detailed WTG designs, specifications, site suitability calculations, type certifications, acceptance test results and performance test results
Supervision and coordination of WTG performance warranty testing on behalf of our client, particularly power curve and acoustic emissions
Management of WTG Grid Code Compliance Requirements
The overarching responsibility of all our client's engineering team members is to contribute to the winning of projects, achieving financial close for the projects and executing the projects to achieve COD and Facility Acceptance within budget and within the required timelines.
Minimum Educational Qualifications:
