Field Deployment Specialist

Position Description:

We are looking for a Field Deployment Specialist who will be based out of our Calgary office in Alberta. The role is to deploy DarkVision’s technology in a wide variety of different jobs across different well types and downhole applications in Alberta and more broadly in the North American market. You’ll be working with a wide variety of oil and gas operators, service companies, deployments systems and personnel and will be personally responsible for the successful execution of each job.

The most important characteristic of the successful candidate is that they are very hard-working and a self-starter. Also, the ability to travel and spend lots of time in the field is an absolute must in this particular role. You’ll be supported by our Operations and Engineering teams, but you’ll be the person on-site who’s responsible for the job itself along with communications to the customer.

Specific Skills Required: This particular role has a few key requirements that a successful candidate would have in order the hit the ground running and be able to get up to speed in a short period of time.

  • Wireline/Logging Experience: Experience deploying other logging technologies using wireline, tractor, coil and various other deployment methods. This would ideally be experience from North American deployments in the US or Canada.
  • Oil Field Service Experience: General experience with downhole equipment, well construction, completions etc. would be another important asset.
  • Technical Background: A technical or engineering background would be helpful in better understanding the technology and how it works, but not a hard requirement.

 

Responsibilities (depending on the candidate’s skills, experience and aptitude, there are a wide variety of potential responsibilities and key areas for contribution):

  • Everything & Anything: There will be a wide assortment of standard and not-so-standard tasks that you’ll be expected to complete, both inside and outside the typical business development umbrella. There’s an entrepreneurial side to the role, so no task will be either above or beneath you.
  • Deployments: Successfully deploy the technology in wells, including mobilization, rig-up, rig-down, communications with site personnel, service companies and ultimately oversee the deployment of the products in each customer’s well.
  • Travel: The successful candidate will travel primarily in Western Canada, but will also travel internationally, largely within North America to deploy the technology with various oil and gas operators. Travel is a key component of the job, and a flexible personal-life that can support a career where time away from home is the norm is an absolute must. If you don’t want to be out of town, you shouldn’t apply for this job.
  • Preparation for Jobs: Ensuring that tools, parts, trucks and critical equipment are checked, cleaned, calibrated and verified for each job is a natural part of deploying the technology. Taking care of the tools, fixing, cleaning, testing and refurbishing.
  • Communications: Quick, clear and effective communication with customers, site personnel and DarkVision staff are your responsibility to ensure deployments are successful and everyone has the information they need.  
  • Trouble-Shooting: Deploying new technology naturally comes with the necessity to troubleshoot new problems that arise on-site in real-time. You’ll be supported by the engineering and operations teams, but the ability to figure things out quickly, improvise and succeed under pressure will be critical to overall job success. The capacity to both anticipate and solve field problems is paramount.
  • Product Input & Feedback: Provide feedback and ideas on how to improve the product, technology and operational processes to increase efficiency, quality and scalability of the overall business. Feedback from the field is critical and will be incorporated directly into the engineering team to improve existing and future products.

Position Description:

We are looking for a Business Development professional who will be based out of our Calgary office in Alberta. The role itself could encompass a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities, depending on the successful applicant’s skill-set, aptitude, ability and experience. The primary objectives and responsibilities for the role are depicted in the sections below. In general, you’ll be working directly with DarkVision’s CEO on a wide variety of sales, marketing, product and business development tasks and projects.

The most important characteristic of the successful candidate is that they are very hard-working and a self-starter. There is a large amount of flexibility and freedom in the role, along with growth potential, so someone looking to use that freedom to significantly advance their career and put in the hard work necessary to do so, would be an ideal candidate.   • Responsible to support the Maintenance Planning Supervisor in the development, implementation and execution of the planning/scheduling processes and procedures.
    • Ensure that all safety requirements including permits and related safety documentation are included in the workorder planning process.
    • Ensure that all company and contractor manpower resources required to complete workorder tasks are fully defined in both number and duration.
    • Ensure that all materials, special tools and equipment as required to carryout the workorder activities are fully defined in the planning process.


Will also work closely with the Electrical and Mechanical planners to ensure coordination of Electrical and Mechanical work orders on the same equipment and/or systems.

  • Support and comply with the policies, goals, efforts, and programs of CPC's Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management System. Ensure HSE issues are given primary consideration in all activities undertaken within area of responsibility. Unsafe acts and/or conditions, no matter in what area of responsibility, are to be reported so corrective actions can be taken.
  • Review all approved SAP notifications and prioritize based on safety, production and other operational requirements.
  • Utilize the SAP Workorder system to carryout detailed planning for maintenance tasks that will go into the plans.
  • Identify the preliminary start date for workorder activities based on predicted availability of all required resources.
  • Utilize the SAP Work Order system to carryout detailed planning work with particular focus on the safety aspects of these activities.
  • Work closely with the Maintenance Leads on communicating work details and ensuring that all resources (manpower and materials) are captured in the workorder.
  • Ensure that all resources including manpower (company & contract), materials, special tools / equipment, are identified as part of the work order planning process.
  • Ensure that all safety requirements such as PPE, special procedures, LOTO, Isolations, scaffolding for safe access, etc are taken into account in the workorder planning process.
  • Develop and or update Instrumentation Predictive & Preventative Maintenance Routines as required.
  • Develop task lists for repetitive work to facilitate work order planning efficiency.
  • Explore the full functionality of the SAP PM system by participating in COP User Groups and seminars.


Establish and maintain thorough knowledge of the capabilities of external service provider

Current vacancy in Alberta based company that designs and manufactures oil and gas processing equipment for both the Canadian and International marketplace. Product lines cover surface production equipment from wellhead to pipe line. My client specializes in packaged equipment for larger gas processing plants and petrochemical systems. The current role is for the Calgary sales office.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify, qualify and secure sales opportunities for oil and gas processing equipment.
  • Develop, nurture and maintain close working relationships with the decision-makers in the assigned markets including consultants, operator/maintenance and contractors.
  • Influence and assist in preparing technical specifications for the engineering consultants on products.
  • Provide market intelligence to Inside Sales during quote preparation.
  • Follow up and close quotes issued by Inside Sales.
  • Update and maintain internal sales tracking system on a regular and frequent basis.
  • Develop and maintain project activity reports indicating status (i.e. pre-feasibility, budget, RFQ)
  • Assist in developing yearly sales forecasts.

Cooling Tower Engineer / Project Engineer
Petroplan are currently recruiting a highly bespoke vacancy for an Ontario based engineering company. This company is part a global enterprise which employs over 15,000 people. We currently seek a Cooling Tower Engineer. For this role, the selected candidate will work alongside the Industrial Water Engineering group carrying out Project based assignments, this position will encompass Project Management, Sales Assistance, Estimations, Proposals and Planning.
For this position, the candidates can be based in Toronto ON, Edmonton AB or if required can work from home if highly experienced. For this position candidates at varying levels of seniority and experience will considered but a solid understanding of thermodynamics is essential.
Role Responsibilities:

  • Support product / development testing and design activities, and prepare product and design scopes.
  • Produce ratings and performance curves of thermal efficiencies to assist sales teams for proposals.
  • Produce thermal ratings for new and existing product lines.
  • Manages all project planning; i.e., clearly define scope and ensure clarity of project technical schedule and budget requirements, performs cash flow planning, manpower loading models; responsible for developing and maintaining required project records.
  • Prepare Bill of Material (BOM) for projects.
  • Review RFQ's and mechanical & structural design specifications to ensure they meet engineering and safety standards.
  • Works with or acts as Proposal Manager on customer requirements; i.e., reviews RFP (Request for Proposal) and specification, coordinates with sales and marketing to determine scope of work and is responsible for scope definition, prepares and/or approves all cost estimates, develops preliminary implementation plan, may assist in the estimating, proposal, and sales process, controls final negotiations on engineering/construction project.
  • This job does require a certain amount of travel as required.

Responsibilities:

Participating in negotiations to achieve supplier selection of all contracts, management and application of price and commercial performance mechanisms.

The Job

  • Monitoring the Diesel Fuel / Lubricant markets. This includes market and competitive analysis, customer demand, supply chain histories and forecasts, supplier analysis, future trend analysis, understanding of total cost of ownership and the levers or value add for the category, and infrastructure analysis.
  • Maintain knowledge of all pipeline configurations, refineries, and monitor market
    conditions. Weekly reporting with "Intermediate Microsoft Skills"
  • Managing reporting, supplier performance, and invoice management with the internal team. This includes, relationship management to ensure suppliers' strengths are fully leveraged into the supply chain and that the full contractual intent.
  • Maintaining communication with business unit representatives through weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or quarterly meetings. Work will require flexibility and after hour communication.
  • Maintaining the highest standard of health and safety performance by implementing a personal safety plan, exhibiting behaviours consistent with zero tolerance, leading by example with colleagues, team members and suppliers and acting in accordance with HSE policies

The Individual

  • Previous experience with multi-national companies in Mining, Manufacturing, Utilities,
    Automotive, Rail.
  • Commercially focused Diesel Fuel, Fuel Oil, Lubricant knowledge and price negotiations.

Geotechnical - Supervisor

  • Provide technical support, mentoring and direction to the geotechnical team;
  • Oversee the geotechnical analysis and studies completed by the geotechnical engineers;
  • Review and scrutinize third party geotechnical and hydrotechnical assessments, inspections, investigations;
  • Evaluate cost saving opportunities within the geotechnical hazard management program;

Qualifications

  • Professional Engineering Designation with preference given to Civil/Geotechnical Engineering. Consideration will be given to an Engineering Technologist certificate in a related field;
  • 10 years of relevant work experience involving pipeline geotechnical engineering;
  • Strong technical understanding of geohazard assessment methods, investigation and mitigation strategies in relation to pipeline integrity management;
  • Experience in geotechnical investigations, geo-hazard evaluations, air-photo and LiDAR interpretations, rock and soil slope stability evaluation, subsurface and aerial pipeline river crossings, and instrumentation, monitoring;
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities leading a team of engineers;
  • Energetic, resilient, collaborative, goal oriented and a motivated team player;
  • Exceptional influencing and communication skills with a strong focus on customer service;
  • Demonstrates assertiveness to ensure business requirements are met, along with a can-do attitude to accommodate the variable duties required for the position;
  • Critical analytical, and strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Travel is minimal, but must be willing to travel to the field for up to a week duration; and

The Company

The Job
Managing a team of around 20 people of multi skilled specialists, you will be responsible for ensuring mining operations such as bulk excavation, soil salvage, dyke construction and road building for heavy haulage are carried out efficiently and safely. You will be working with the Mining Operations Manager to monitor shovel pits, placement areas and haul roads and ensure necessary resources are assigned to ensure production targets are met.

The Individual
You will have extensive experience working within the mining sector including time spent in a superintendent/supervisory position focused on managing mining operations. At least eight years of heavy equipment operating experience. Mining engineers with practical field experience as a front line leader will also be considered. Computer proficiency, specifically in Modular Mining
The Schedule
The shift schedule is a six days on/six days off rotation (three days on, three nights on, six days off; 12-hour shifts). If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory
