Snr Project Manager Engineering (Contract) Location: PheonixDescription This contractor position is on a temporary basis and will work remotely, at the jobsite in Arizona with occasional business trips to a Toronto, ON Canada Engineering office.
Responsible for day-to-day leadership, management and direction of both the detail engineering and the engineering execution phases of a major mining and metallurgical process facilities project, reporting to the Project Director, and functionally to the Director of Engineering. The scope of this position includes all aspects of the project life cycle with a specified technology vendor, from early scoping and definition stages through detailed engineering and procurement phases and finally to field erection and commissioning support.
Review the development of the engineering work packages (EWPs) for all deliverables and time-based functions with technology provider. Review and analyze project requirements to establish tasks and subtasks and project timelines.
Responsible for the scope, cost, schedule, safety, and quality associated with the project as influenced by the technology package engineering.
Monitor the technical work performance and verify controls for tracking and reporting the advancement of engineering deliverables.

Ensures that a comprehensive QA/QC is in place to monitor quality of all engineering tasks and deliverables.
Monitors work in-progress and completed to ensure that the work is of a quality and character that meets the requirements of the company and the site operations team
Participates in all project engineering meetings including progress review meetings (weekly, monthly), progress versus schedule (master, look-ahead, and specific) and works with project team, EP(CM) contractor, site operations team and others to resolve issues, and recover or compress schedule
Manages the reforecast of contractor staffing needs using actual progress, work remaining to complete and estimates to complete
Ensure the development of an achievable engineering schedule to meet project requirements using the EWPs.
Provide input into the project monthly report with respect to design progress, cost and issues of concern and recommend changes if required to achieve overall objectives.
Contribute to the development of the Project Execution Plan (PEP) together with the project leadership team (including procurement, project controls, construction, and commissioning), and allocate roles and responsibilities.
Coordinate with Procurement, Construction and Commissioning personnel early in the design effort to obtain their input and conduct any necessary reviews.
Regularly review and appraise the structure of the engineering project team in terms of its ability to meet short- and long-term objectives, and institute appropriate changes.
Ensure that Engineering Company(s) Engineering Systems and 3D intelligent design environment is properly setup and being used.
Involve specialist expertise.
Ensure engineering risk assessments and HAZOPs are carried out and all identified issues are addressed.
Supervises project staff and contractors.
Serves as expert on engineering management issues.

Minimum Qualifications
Proven experience in Project and Engineering Management on projects with a value exceeding $500 million.
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, and minimum 15 years' experience with the practice, systems, processes and terminology of project management.
Master's degree in engineering or related field and minimum 12 years' experience with the practice, systems, processes and terminology of project management.

Area Commissioning Manager (Contract) - Smelter Project Location: Surabaya Project: 18-24 months Rotation: 8 weeks on 3 weeks off Description This contractor position will be located near Surabaya, Indonesia with potential travel to engineering and technology providers offices in Japan and Finland. This position will report to the Commissioning Manager. Responsible for direction, planning and management of the commissioning phase of capital projects, beginning in the early phases of project definition with project execution planning, phasing and scheduling, and continuing throughout the erection and commissioning phases of the project. The scope of this position includes the performance evaluation of facilities, systems, and assemblies to ensure they meet defined objectives and criteria. Manages the all inclusive quality-oriented process for the planning, delivery, verification, and managing risks to critical functions.
Responsible for planning, developing and implementing comprehensive commissioning plans, manpower resources and managing the pre-commissioning and commissioning effort effectively as required for start-up of capital projects.
Works with EPCM contractor to obtain pre-commissioning plan to be used as the basis for the wet/ore commissioning and start up plan.
Reviews a P&IDs, design drawings and specifications to fully understand designated project areas and pre-commissioning systems and subsystems. Understands structure of turn over packages as defined on markup P&ID's and flow sheets furnished by the EPCM. Provides input as needed on TOP structure to EPCM as required to ensure logical turnover sequence.
Reviews all scope outside EPCM battery limits for items to be supplied by owner. Any interface items required for successful plant startup such as power supply, water supply, control system design and supply, reagents, raw material feed supplies, ancillary systems, etc, shall be included in the integrated commissioning plans as well as an integrated construction and mechanical completion milestone schedule.
Collaborates with Construction Managers and discipline Superintendents to understand construction sequence and upcoming areas for pre-commissioning and commissioning.
Develops commissioning schedule, plans, and procedures and conducts punchlist inspections.

Snr Project Manager Engineering (Contract) Location: PheonixDescription This contractor position is on a temporary basis and will work remotely, at the jobsite in Arizona with occasional business trips to a Toronto, ON Canada Engineering office.
Responsible for day-to-day leadership, management and direction of both the detail engineering and the engineering execution phases of a major mining and metallurgical process facilities project, reporting to the Project Director, and functionally to the Director of Engineering. Area Commissioning Manager (Contract) - Smelter Project Location: Surabaya Project: 18-24 months Rotation: 8 weeks on 3 weeks off Description This contractor position will be located near Surabaya, Indonesia with potential travel to engineering and technology providers offices in Japan and Finland. This position will report to the Commissioning Manager. Responsible for direction, planning and management of the commissioning phase of capital projects, beginning in the early phases of project definition with project execution planning, phasing and scheduling, and continuing throughout the erection and commissioning phases of the project. The scope of this position includes the performance evaluation of facilities, systems, and assemblies to ensure they meet defined objectives and criteria. Manages the all inclusive quality-oriented process for the planning, delivery, verification, and managing risks to critical functions.
Responsible for planning, developing and implementing comprehensive commissioning plans, manpower resources and managing the pre-commissioning and commissioning effort effectively as required for start-up of capital projects.
Works with EPCM contractor to obtain pre-commissioning plan to be used as the basis for the wet/ore commissioning and start up plan.
Reviews a P&IDs, design drawings and specifications to fully understand designated project areas and pre-commissioning systems and subsystems. Understands structure of turn over packages as defined on markup P&ID's and flow sheets furnished by the EPCM. Provides input as needed on TOP structure to EPCM as required to ensure logical turnover sequence.
Reviews all scope outside EPCM battery limits for items to be supplied by owner. Any interface items required for successful plant startup such as power supply, water supply, control system design and supply, reagents, raw material feed supplies, ancillary systems, etc, shall be included in the integrated commissioning plans as well as an integrated construction and mechanical completion milestone schedule.
Collaborates with Construction Managers and discipline Superintendents to understand construction sequence and upcoming areas for pre-commissioning and commissioning.
Develops commissioning schedule, plans, and procedures and conducts punchlist inspections.
Ensures that all commissioning activities are captured in the project systems and works with Document Controls to prepare turnover package documentation.
Directs the activities of consultants and contractors.

Essential Functions Analysis all contracts including the conditions, scope, and other Works information to identify requirements and deliverables and to highlight areas of risk such as ambiguities, conflicts, or deviations from the scope of work. Makes recommendations to the Project Managers on the mitigation of these risks. Closely monitors and supports remedial actions and recommends appropriate actions.
Develops and manages appropriate mechanisms to monitor compliance with contract terms and conditions.
Supervises and provides guidance to other project team members to ensure technical competence and consistency of administration across several contract packages and to ensure that customer-related actions or inactions which could result in constructive contract changes are identified and make recommendations on their resolution.
Develops and manages procedures to recognize and identify contract claims as they develop and manage the timely resolution under the changes provisions wherever possible, obtaining claims and legal expertise as appropriate.
Maintains a good working relationship with Construction, Engineering, Project Controls, Procurement, Legal, Project Management and Risk Management to facilitate organizational interfaces to support contract administration.
Provides the Project Manager with reviews and analysis of the contract commitment data and payments position and assists Project Controls with the in the development and maintenance of overall cost management.
Responsible for adherence to contract insurance provisions and ensures implementation of all requirements.
Ensures the requirements of good corporate governance is understood by members of the Project Management team and takes early actions to correct any deviations from good governance practices.

Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or GED and ten (10) years experience in Supply Chain or the related fields of Business, Accounting, or Engineering, OR Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or the related fields of Business, Accounting, or Engineering and six (6) years experience in Supply Chain or the related fields of Business, Accounting, or Engineering
Knowledge of the principles and practices of commercial contracts management
Work involves frequent travel, international assignments, and relocation to the site of work
Proficient in the use of personal computers in a business environment. MS Word, Excel, Outlook, essential Preferred Qualifications
Experience with large copper production and related facilities
Prior EPCM experience preferred Heavy industrial construction commercial management experience
Working as a team member (Client, EPCM & Contractors)
Fluent in English and Spanish
