Our client, my client, a large owner/operator Oil & Gas organization is looking to add a HSEQ Advisor to their team for a 1 year independent contract with a high possibility of extension. Based in St. John's, NL regularly, with a few occasional offshore trips.


Reporting directly to the HSEQ Manager, this Individual is responsible to coordinate the Operations Readiness and Assurance activities in the areas of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Activities and documentation requirements necessary to ensure safe and efficient start up and ongoing operations.


Key Responsibilities:


* Responsible for the creation of key HSE management documentation, including the safety plan and any other safe work practices
* Develop new Platform-specific safety documentation to support the Safety Plan
* Revise existing or other HSE documentation
* Responsible for development of a platform specific hygiene plan in consultation with the corporate hygienist that includes creation of a Qualitative Health Hazard Assessment (QHHA).
* Establish and implement the Permit to Work System with Pre-job planning
* Procure any health and safety monitoring equipment, i.e. gas monitors, medical supplies, loose lifting gear, personal protective equipment etc.
* Implement a process for the management of non-standard operations including control of overrides and risk mitigation for equipment out of service (NOPRAS and SSIM)
* Develop an inspection and audit plan for the platform
* Will be the liaison between HSEQ Operations and the Project group
* Implement a Behavioral Based and Hazard IS System

Key Qualifications:

* Post-Secondary education in Safety Engineering Technology or similar
* Be able to complete the Medical Assessment and required training for offshore trips
* Ability to conduct incident investigation
* 10 years of experience working in a HSEQ role, including direct responsibility for the administration of Health, Safety, and Environment management programs for the offshore or marine industry
* Experience supporting HSEQ in the Production/Drilling industry
* Ability to conduct audits of suppliers and contractors to various management system standards (ISM, ISO 9000 series, ISO 1400 series, etc.)
* Desire and ability to maintain professional competence through continued education and training development
* Ability to work well with others and show leadership when necessary
* Excellent computer skills and proficient with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
* Professional safety designation such as CRSP, CSP, ROH, or ROHT is highly desirable

The successful candidate must be able to work a flexible work schedule to allow for some rotations and overtime work (evenings or weekends as needed 0600 - 1430 and 1400 to 2230) to support plant start-up/commissioning activities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct sampling of process streams within the operating plant and comply with Health and Safety Policy
  • Support lab set up and commissioning of analytical instruments as directed
  • Analyze process streams (gas, process liquids, waste and water) following SOP's and QA/QC requirements
  • Provide data entry for analyses, record keeping and documentation
  • Perform predictive maintenance on lab equipment as well as calibrations and routine repairs
  • Perform general duties as directed by operation manager

Our client, a large Oil & Gas owner/operator is looking to add an Electrical Construction Coordinator to their team for a 1 year independent contract in Fort McMurray. This is a FIFO opportunity, 8 days on, 6 days off rotation. Flights and Camp provided of course.


This individual will have 10 years of experience within the electrical construction scope of work. The Coordinator will be responsible to ensure contractors carry out construction activities in a safe, timely and cost effective manner in accordance with the construction work package plans and specifications.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with other team members such as coordinators, project controls, contracts, materials management, quality, field engineering, turnover and document control etc., to achieve project specific goals and requirements.
  • Participate in Readiness for Constructions Reviews as required
  • Act as liaison between the organization and construction contractor in respective areas to resolve interface and integration issues
  • Work with and follow the project change management processes focusing on accuracy of costs and resources and timely closure of FCNs, FCRs, RFIs and DCNs.
  • Identify any potential changes and rework that could impact the cost or schedule of the project.
  • Initiate field related SR's as required.
  • Review and validates Contractor daily LEMs.
  • Follow up and validation of Contractors WFP (includes quality review /signoff on IWPs).
  • Authorize day to day minor changes within their DOA limits


Key Requirements:

  • Qualified Technical Professional or Journeyman Tradesmen (E&I preferred)
  • 10 years of experience in an Oil & Gas construction environment
  • Working towards a construction management or electrical certification is an asset.

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 15 years work experience in various disciplines in the Oil & Gas industry. Consideration for Business
  • Consultancy experience or experience working in a major international Oil and Gas Company with multi-disciplinary expertise ranging from technical to business and economics.
  • This must include a minimum 10 years with emphasis on Economic Modelling, Merger & Acquisition activities, and Market Intelligence.
  • Minimum 5 years in petroleum economic evaluation experience
  • Ability to design and build complex economic models for Upstream E&P, Downstream, and LNG assets or projects in a wide variety of fiscal regimes.
  • Energy and ability to work within and across teams, to facilitate effective decision-making.
  • Evidence of strong work ethic and awareness of discretion and need to observe confidentiality in all matters.
  • Excellent problem solving, financial and economic modelling skills as well as ability to work in multi-cultural environment.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills in English are required. Arabic is a plus.

Reporting to the Category Manager - Offshore, the incumbent in this position will be primarily accountable for high and medium risk criticality categories.
Specifically, the Category Advisor will be responsible for managing the strategic sourcing, contract administration, and supplier performance and relationships aspects of their designated categories. The incumbent will lead the strategy development, sourcing and award activities for high criticality categories as directed by the Category Manager. Working closely with the Business Units, suppliers and other stakeholders, they will be responsible for applying the Strategic Sourcing Methodology

Specifically, they will be responsible to ensure suppliers are appropriately qualified, selected, and monitored for performance in accordance with the standards defined by HOIMS. In collaboration with business unit stakeholders, they will work to ensure contracts clearly define supplier expectations, deliverables, and any other requirements as deemed necessary to meet business standards.

This will be a 1-year contract with a possibility of extension. Typical working hours are Monday-Friday, 8am - 5pm.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Develop and execute enterprise-wide high and medium risk category strategies by leading cross-functional teams through category management process, based on an agreed-upon Delivery Plan and other business strategies approved by management * Manage the overall sourcing process including RFx development and completion through the use of available technologies * Negotiate and administer contracts and contract changes as applicable * Work with business unit contract owners to drive supplier performance and compliance * Ensure all SCM processes, contract documentation and master data changes are coordinated within the function, collaborating closely with all functions within SCM
