Operations & Maintenance Lead Discipline Engineer - Offshore Substation - France

Our client, an EPC that works within the Renewables sector, are currently looking to hire a Operations & Maintenance Lead Discipline Engineer to join their team based in France (Residential) on an initial 12 months contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and tabulate technical aspects of certain equipment / unit package/ material of a Vendor/Subcontractor. (Technical Evaluation Bids)
  • Control and review that the different documents issued by Vendor/Subcontractor comply with specifications and standards, corporate procedures, and scope of work applicable to the project.
  • Experience in the development of RAM, FMECA, RCM, Maintenance Activity List, O&M Manuals.

Essential experience & qualifications:

  • Degree qualified.
  • English and preferably German.
  • Experience in previous Offshore Substation in German waters dealing with BSH requirements.
  • Minimum of 10 years of work experience.

Electrical Commissioning engineer

  • Preparation E-test plan / energizing protocol
  • Liaison with vendors (e.g. switchgear)
  • Liaison with NoBo (AREI inspections)
  • Interfacing with construction and E/I-contractor
  • Preparation of the logistics (test equipment / manpower)
  • Support the preparation of commissioning dossiers (e.g. completed check lists)
  • Managing of E-technician(s) (e.g. power up of tracing, lighting, utilities)
  • Ensure safe working (e.g. ensure LOTO procedure is applied correctly, permitting)
  • French language (essential)
  • Steel manufacturing project experience essential

Required Experience:

Commissioning "operator" (hands on)

  • Preparation of Operational Test Procedures (cleaning and commissioning procedures)
  • Preparation of the logistics (manpower / material) of the cleaning / initial start of e.g. cooling water / hydraulic systems
  • Field coordination of the cleaning and commissioning execution regarding e.g. cooling water systems / hydraulic systems
  • Closely working with operations / mech. Technicians
  • Interfacing with construction P/M-contractor (e.g. fitters)

Thermal activities in Europe include natural gas, coal, biomass and large-scale Combined Heat Power assets

Main responsibilities:

- Optimize the profitability (risks, cost, revenues) of the plant in accordance with the company strategy.

- Be responsible for the profit and loss (P&L) of the entity

- Be in charge of the local relationship with stakeholders

- Be accountable for health, safety and environment results of the plants

- Manage the O&M of the plants

- Manage the optimization of revenues of the assets

- Manage the technical performance of the plants

- Manage all customer and partnership contracts

- Capture opportunities in the industrial service market and help to develop new projects in collaboration with the Business Development team

- Manage the audits processes of the plants.

- Manage staff (about 30 people) and social relations within the entity

- Manage the relationships with public authorities, partners and customers

Process Engineer - Offshore Substation - France

Our client, an EPC that works within the Renewables sector, are currently looking to hire a Process Engineer to join their team based in France (Residential) on an initial 12 months contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Experience in the development of process deliverables such as PFD, P&ID, H&MB, design philosophies, calculation notes (control valves, safety valves, line sizing, tanks, expansion units, etc), line list, equipment datasheets, operating philosophies and procedures, operation and control narratives, design reports.
  • Experience in participation in safety reviews such HAZID and HazOp. Familiarity with input to FMECA and RAM.
  • Experience in using software for flow simulations such as Fathom or similar.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified.
  • English & (Preferably, but not essential) German.
  • Previous expeirence dealing with offshore substations.

    • Electrical Oneline diagram
    • Wiring diagrams of Electrical distribution (MV y LV)
    • UPS
    • Load List
    • Electrical analyses in ETAP
    • Lighting calculation (Dialux or similar)
    • Technical Specifications (Electrical Equipment, Cables, …)
    • Data Sheets
  • Technical evaluations.
  • Factory Acceptance test assistance in vendor installations.
  • Guarantee the coordination of works with the rest of disciplines within the Engineering Department and within their own department.
  • Undertake design and analysis activities in accordance with tasks assigned on Project.

Academic: Higher Technical Engineer

  • 10 years of experience, recommended in Offshore Substations
  • Recommended experience in German BSH requirements



Activities to Develop:

  • Experience in I&C subsystems (DCS, Scada, field instrumentation, FDS, FiFi, Inert Gas & communication protocols).
  • Control System topology design for offshore projects.
  • Technical Specification and technical document (IO List, Inst List, Cause & Effect matrix, Functional Descriptions, Control Narratives, etc).
  • Technical Specification of motorized and pneumatic valves.
  • Technical specification of I&C Cables.
  • Flowchart from process description.
  • Factory Acceptance test assistance in vendor installations.
  • Expediting (Technical evaluation and follow on the purchase) of I&C devices.
  • Fire Detection System control.
  • I&C team management.
  • Guarantee the coordination of works with the rest of disciplines within the Engineering Department and within their own department.
  • Undertake design and analysis activities in accordance with tasks assigned on Project.
  • Produce project status reports on weekly and monthly basis.
