The Great Petroplan Bake Off

The Social Committee at Petroplan hosted the first quaterly bake off this week, fittingly named ‘The Great Petroplan Bake Off’. The bake off set to raise money for Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, an adult hospice caring for terminally ill people and their families in Farnham, Surrey.

Petroplan employees were asked to create their finest bakes in a competition to win ‘Star Baker’, ‘Best Presentation’, ‘Most Innovative Ingredients’ and ‘Tastiest Bake’. The winners all received a certificate to proudly display on their desks, and show everyone in the office their culinary genius.

The event was a complete success with an amazing 9 bakes entered in to the competition, ranging from a simple Victoria Sponge to an impressive Petroplan logo sponge cake.

Our receptionist Laura won ‘Star Baker’ with a raspberry ripple and white chocolate fingered tiered sponge cake.

Executive Resourcer Sophie won ‘Best Presentation’ with an aesthetically stunning chocolate bonanza cake covered in M&Ms, Munchies and white chocolate buttons.

Recruitment Specialist Zelda won ‘Most Innovative Ingredients’ with unusual but tasty beer bread.

Accounts Assistant Yasmin won ‘Tastiest Bake’ with some delicious raspberry and chocolate brownies.

The Guildford and London offices donated a small contribution per each slice they ate, and managed to raise an impressive £76 for the charity. Petroplan hopes to emulate this success every quarter from now on, and each year donate to a charity personal to someone in our global offices.

Please keep an eye out on the blog for more up and coming charity events Petroplan will be participating in.
